Trusted tree surgery professionals serving East Sussex and Kent with over 15 years of hands-on arboricultural experience, NPTC qualifications and a genuine passion for trees.

Neil Walbridge, NPTC-certified tree surgeon and owner of Walbridge Tree Care

Meet Neil Walbridge

Neil Walbridge is the founder and owner of Walbridge Tree Care, bringing over 15 years of hands-on experience in professional tree surgery and arboriculture to every job he undertakes. Based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Neil has built a reputation across the region as a reliable, highly skilled and safety-conscious tree surgeon who takes genuine pride in the quality of his work.

Neil's journey into arboriculture began in his late teens, when a fascination with working outdoors and a deep respect for the natural environment led him to pursue formal training in tree surgery. He gained his NPTC City & Guilds qualifications in chainsaw use, tree felling and related operations, equipping him with the nationally recognised credentials that underpin every aspect of his work today. Those early years were spent learning the craft from the ground up, working alongside experienced arborists on everything from complex dismantling operations in confined spaces to large-scale woodland management projects.

Over the years, Neil has developed a thorough understanding of tree biology, identification and the best practices for maintaining healthy trees throughout their lifespan. He is a strong advocate for preserving trees wherever possible, offering thoughtful advice on pruning techniques, crown management and long-term tree health rather than recommending removal as a first option. When trees do need to come down, whether for safety reasons or due to disease, Neil carries out the work with precision and care, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding structures, gardens and wildlife habitats.

What sets Neil apart is his personal approach to every project. He visits every site himself, provides clear and honest assessments, and takes the time to explain the recommended course of action in straightforward terms. Customers regularly comment on his professionalism, reliability and the tidy state in which he leaves their properties once the work is finished. Neil believes that good communication and trust are just as important as technical skill, and that philosophy is at the heart of everything Walbridge Tree Care does.

Living and working in the Heathfield area, Neil is proud to serve his local community and the wider East Sussex and Kent region. He understands the specific challenges that trees in this part of the country face, from the heavy clay soils of the Weald to the coastal exposure along the south coast, and he brings that local knowledge to bear on every project, no matter how large or small.

We are committed to ongoing professional development, regularly updating our skills and knowledge through industry training courses. This ensures we stay current with the latest techniques, equipment advances and best practice guidelines in modern arboriculture.

Health & Safety Compliant

Every project begins with a thorough risk assessment and, where required, a detailed method statement. We adhere to all current health and safety legislation, use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow industry-standard safe working procedures on every site.

Our Values

The principles that guide every aspect of our tree surgery and arboricultural work.

Safety First

Safety is non-negotiable at Walbridge Tree Care. We maintain rigorous safety standards on every site, conduct thorough risk assessments before work begins, use correct personal protective equipment at all times and follow industry-standard safe working procedures. Our commitment to safety protects our team, our clients and the public.

Environmental Responsibility

We care deeply about the natural environment. Our approach prioritises sustainable practices wherever possible, including recycling timber and woodchip for mulch, recommending replanting schemes, advising on habitat preservation and minimising waste. We work with the environment, not against it, ensuring trees and ecosystems are treated with respect.

Customer Satisfaction

We believe in clear communication from the first enquiry to the final sweep-up. We keep our clients informed throughout every project, turn up when we say we will, and leave every site clean and tidy once the work is complete. Our aim is for every customer to be delighted with the result and happy to recommend us.

Professional Standards

All our tree surgery and arboricultural work is carried out in accordance with BS3998: Tree Work – Recommendations and current industry best practices. We hold ourselves to the highest professional standards, ensuring that every cut, every reduction and every removal is performed correctly and with long-term tree health in mind.

Professional Equipment & Modern Techniques

At Walbridge Tree Care, we invest in professional-grade equipment to ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Our fleet includes commercial-specification chainsaws, a professional wood chipper for processing brash and branches on site, and a dedicated stump grinder for clean removal of stumps below ground level.

For access to trees in difficult or confined locations, we utilise MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) access platforms where needed, providing a safe and stable working position at height. This is particularly useful for trees near buildings, power lines or other structures where traditional climbing may not be the safest option.

All timber and green waste produced during our work is dealt with responsibly. Where possible, logs are processed for firewood and woodchip is recycled as garden mulch. We take waste disposal seriously and ensure every site is left clean, tidy and free of debris once the work is finished. Our modern approach combines traditional arboricultural skills with the latest techniques and equipment, delivering the best possible results for our clients and the trees we work on.
